WEST PALM BEACH, Florida/August 19, 2019 – InfraSite has finalized a record-breaking agreement to locate its patented underground 5G boxes on 21,000 (34,000 km) miles of CSX rail rights of way. The agreement means InfraSite’s new magic box solution will allow construction of medium cell tower sites along the CSX railroad right of ways without fences and landscaping that would block access to the properties.
“This agreement is very important because it signals InfraSite can build new 4G and 5G sites where other tower companies can’t build without blocking access with unsightly sheds and above ground equipment bins that create many problems for rail operations,” said Kevin T. Aycock, founder of InfraSite.
“Railroads, just like other landowners and landlords, are facing an increasing need for more space for items such as switching gear, communications equipment, and rail safety controls. All these and more can be housed safely and securely underground. At the same time, they and adjacent property owners have an even greater need for 4G and 5G access. By being able to house cell tower support equipment in our magic underground box we have kept the space open for use and provide the telecommunications link as well. It’s a win-win for everyone,” added Aycock.
InfraSite only recently announced its patented underground magic box to the world and has received tremendous interest from local, state and other governmental agencies; transportation companies; as well as landowners and landlords all needing 4G and 5G technologies made possible by innovative cellphone towers.
“Reaching an agreement with CSX so quickly is very good news and positive testimony to the fact that we can build cost effective cell towers in locations that others cannot touch without limiting use of the space. And, we are able to provide safe and secure underground space for today’s modern rail system’s needs. We are looking forward to similar agreements with companies and governmental agencies here in the United States and abroad as there is more demand for cell towers that meet stricter space and aesthetic requirements, concluded Aycock.
InfraSite’s introduction of the underground equipment shelter, the magic box, comes as telecommunication carriers are racing to secure more broadcast towers after being empowered by the Federal Communications Commission’s decision that mandates municipalities nationwide must provide lots of new space for 5G deployments in public places. Many municipalities are fighting the decision. InfraSite’s underground boxes help to keep the peace by keeping public space less cluttered, more aesthetic and available for other uses while providing an alternative to network operators to provide excellent connectivity and better service to the community.
