ARLINGTON, Va.
– The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) and the Smart Cities Council
(SCC) announced their partnership today for two 2020 Smart Cities Week events
in San Diego (April 20-22) and Washington, DC (Sept. 29-Oct. 1).
“In partnership
with WIA, we are excited to bring new resources and energy to Smart Cities
Week,” said Smart Cities Council’s Executive Director Jason Nelson.
“Connectivity is transforming service delivery in cities and connecting
residents to their local government officials in ways never imagined. The
partnership with WIA will bring leading connectivity experts together with city
leaders as they work to transform their communities.”
“From
transportation and energy to healthcare and nearly every industry in between,
5G connectivity is capable of transforming cities, industries, and markets. We
are working to ensure that major cities and our stakeholders are prepared for
this progress,” said WIA Executive Vice President Tim House. “WIA could not
have found a better partner than the Smart Cities Council. We look forward to
opening the doors of our spring Smart Cities Week and anticipate a strong
partnership with SCC that will provide leaders with a meeting place to
revolutionize communities.”
