Dear Members,

The year is well underway, and as I mentioned at the holiday party in December I would be providing changes and updates in the first quarter of 2025.  The Board met in early February to discuss our goals, bylaws, 2025 events and to vote on new Board members.  The meeting was very productive, and with the new leaders elected I know they will build on our foundation and continue moving this association in the right direction.

Board of Directors

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to the current Board of Directors for their dedication and service to the Carolinas Wireless Association members over the past several years. The association has experienced enormous growth, hosted numerous outstanding educational and networking events, and made significant contributions to the Carolinas. The donations and support we’ve provided to organizations such as Victory Junction, Preston’s League, The First Tee, Toys for Tots, and more recently, for hurricane relief, highlight the commitment and leadership of our members and board. Thank you all. It has been an honor to lead such an exceptional group.

As with all organizations, change is inevitable . Therefore, by the end of 2025, a completely new Board of Directors will lead the Carolinas Wireless Association into the future. We have amended the bylaws to include five officer positions and four director positions, ensuring a steady pipeline of individuals prepared to take on larger roles when the time comes. To facilitate a smooth transition, the current Board (including Ashley Jackson, who has agreed to remain an active Board member during this period) will mentor the incoming Board members until their departure dates.

CWA Events

We will begin the year by hosting a Networking Social on the evening before the Music Movement East Coast Charity Golf Tournament in Mt. Pleasant, SC, on April 2nd. Registration is open and an email blast was recently sent out with all the registration and sponsorship information.

This summer we are hoping to organize an Educational & Networking event in Charlotte. We are working on that now and will provide more information shortly.

Unfortunately, for the first time in decades we will not be hosting our Annual Golf Tournament. This pains me to say but despite our best efforts to return to Pinehurst, the Grandover, and other courses, we have not found a suitable venue that meets all our needs. Rest assured, we hope to bring back the tournament in 2026.

Following the success of our first Pop-Up Social in Raleigh last year, we plan to expand these events throughout the Carolinas in 2025. These socials offer a fantastic opportunity to connect with colleagues for a few hours. More information on locations will be shared in the coming weeks.

We will conclude the year with our Annual Holiday Social on December 11th at the Angus Barn in Raleigh. This event is always well-attended, and we look forward to another wonderful gathering at this spectacular venue.

On a personal note, it has been a ride. I cannot thank you all enough for the last 11+ years. As an association we went from 250 members to over 1800 members and helped raise over $500,000 for all our charities. Thank you for your continued support of the association! I look forward to seeing you at one of our events.
